subway, because quiznos burns my sandwiches. and actually I can make ANY of them for cheaper at home so I usually dont go to either. (though the quiznos in boise was pretty nice, the one here is horrible!).

Subway, because I think they are healthier and more filling (the footlongs), cheaper too. All-around win. When they do the Scrabble promotion, I get lots of free drinks, chips, and cookies.

Anyone have Togo's? They are pretty good. Lots of variety. There's another franchise called Mr. Pickles that's awesome -- love the Hot T.

Never heard of Quiznos, not sure it has made it to England yet. Subway is good when you're super-drunk and don't mind getting meatball sauce all over your face.

Yeah Quiznos is already in Britain, for sometime now actually. There's one in manchester's Printworks i think and a couple more in london as i recall. It's just not as big as subway, a bit like wendy's to mcdonald over here.

Subway.

You can choose what you want on your sub there. I know it sounds crazy.

Don't let Quiznos tell you they only know how to make those 10 different subs. Jimmy John's being even worse with their 5 different subs.

Also Subway is cheaper, healthier and in my experience they are typically friendlier.

Uh... No... maybe in your area you have been in a quiznos that doesn't allow you to choose what you want. In most quiznos you can choose the meats and choose what you want on it. But most of the meaty subs like prime rib, and some others taste better without the vegetables. I am a meat kind of guy.

Well anyways, I like to order the honey bourbon (Sweet and spicy) chicken with my select of toppings. You just got to ask.
So far I love beef and cheddar sub for its price and taste. Remember there is premium subs and value subs.

I like the odd subway, tasty and probably a bit healthy than a KFC or a chippy

Never seen a quiznos in Scotland though.

I have never been to a Quiznos in California that allows me to choose whatever I want. If you want one of their specialty breads, it's an extra charge (only white or wheat for regular price). And the menu explicitely states what you get on it. You can ask for lettuce, but other than that, they give you that funny look if you go off the menu, and in my experience will either reply 'no' or 'extra charge'.

Exactly. It's just like Burger King. The Whopper comes with x ingredients, if you ask for y which doesn't normally come on it, they are going to give you a hard time or charge you extra for it.

Subway doesn't care.

I'm sure you and many others have first-hand observed this social experiment: you are in line at a national chain sandwich shop which has a pretty small selection and very fixed menu, and there's an old-timer trying to order. They'll look at the seperate ingredients and start picking, which causes the minimum-wage sandwich 'artiste' to hyperventilate, then attempt to explain to the old-timer that there's an item on the menu which is somewhat similar to what they just ordered, but there will be extra charges because they also wanted this and that, which then causes the old-timer to hyperventilate. Then everyone behind them in line /facepalms.

Anyways this is much more a problem at a place like Quiznos where there is much less menu selection and general against off menu philosophy than Subway which has a more varied menu and generally lets you pick what you want anyway.

Maybe it depends what kind of person you are to like subway or quiznos. Its similar to who prefers saying tomato one way then the other way (toe-may-toe, toe-mah-toh).

Wuts a quiznos.

Can't say I "like" Subway - they have only one of them in Poland (or 2-3, don't know and don't care), in the capitol 105km away. I ate there twice, seemed okay. Not worth eating there more than once a week, though.
